Terms of Service
This website is a SaaS (Software as a Service) Platform and is owned and operated by BridgeMedia.ie. We are a creative agency based in Dublin, Ireland.
Please read the content below for a full understanding of our platform which details what tasks you are able to perform and the code of conduct that we have outlined so that we can keep the platform maintained at a high standard. Any breach of the code of conduct may result in the removal of your content or your account entirely.
Code of Conduct
This platform is designed to help you, the creative professional to showcase your original content as well as content that was produced either for a client, employer or educational institution.
Community values
All users are expected to be fair, polite and understanding when using this platform. That also means that if you have an issue, then you make every effort to resolve that issue in the same fair, polite and understanding manner. Our platform is designed to help you, and we are also open to suggestions to improve the platform and the community of users.
Original Content
This is the most important code to abide by. You need to make sure that your work is original so that you can confidently say that you created it. If you created content that was as part of a team, or you used design elements from stock resources then you need to carefully consider if you want to use that in your portfolio. If you do decide to upload content that includes external elements, make sure you attribute the creator of the element. If you decide to upload content that was created for a client or while under employment, then be sure to obtain permission from that specific client or employer. If you upload content that was part of an educational course, then check with the course provider that you are permitted to upload the content that was created as part of the course. You accept that you are soley responsible for the legal action taken against you as a result of uploading content that you did not obtain permission for. We as BridgeMedia.ie will not accept any legal responsibility for any dispute between yourself and your client, employer or institution associated with your content.
SEO, Privacy and Promotions
Your page is a public page promoting your professional talents. Do not upload or add content that you never wanted to be publicly visible in the first place. We do not offer a user search of our platform so your page is yours to promote and share on your own terms. Your public pages are not promoted on any platform by us unless we have requested permission to do so. We do not block search engines from crawling our platform, so be aware that your page may be indexed by a search engine and appear in search results.
Banned content
Any uploaded content within the following categories: Porn, Abuse, Politics, Racism, War or Defammation of any kind that is interpreted negatively will not be tolerated.
Portfolio Builder
The core feature of our platform is the Portfolio Builder. It is designed to make it as easy as possible to create your portfolio but you accept that it does not do everything under the sun. As we grow we may add in additional features without prior notification or consent. We will however do our best to communicate any changes we make to the portfolio builder.
Artwork Preparation
Think 1:1 (square) when preparing ALL of your project images as we do not offer a cropping tool. Most creative software allows you to produce content in a 1:1 ratio and the only minimum requirement that is needed is that your image must be at least 768px X 768px in size and at least a resolution of 150DPI.
If you are taking a photograph of your artwork like a Painting, Drawing or Sculpture then you can also precrop your frame on your device to a 1:1 ratio. Most modern day Smartphones and EOS Digital Cameras are capable of doing this.
Profile Picture
Again, think 1:1 for your profile picture. Be professional or be creative with your profile picture but just remember that if you are looking for employment then don't go crazy. Creative profile pictures are cool, but not all recruiters are fans of a profile picture that does not show them who you are.
Information
You have fields to enter your name, talent (job title), location (can be hidden), and a short introductory paragraph about yourself.
Messaging / Lead Collection System
By default, your public profile will include a 'contact' button which opens up a form. This allows viewers to send you messages. This is not a chat tool and we do not allow further communication between the sender and yourself. The sender of the message is required to include a valid email address as part of their message to you. You can decide yourself wether or not to act upon that message through your own external communication channels.
When you get sent a message we also notify you via your email address linked to your account.
Professional Links
Professional links are intended to give you the option of adding links to your profile/page on other legitimate websites. Example LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook etc. We will automatically assign an icon button if the domain is recognised by our system. We reserve the right to review and remove any links at our discretion. You will be notified of any removals. Links to explicit, anti-social, or illegal content are strictly prohibited. Non-compliance may result in the deactivation of your profile.
Public Page URL
When you signed up and created your account. Your username was automatically assigned as your portfolio url. You can change this but always consider SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) when you change your URL.
Projects (FREE vs PRO)
All new accounts start on the free plan. This limits the amount of projects that will be visible on your public profile to a maximum of 4. You can however add as many projects as you need in the project builder but only 4 will be publicly visible. Also each project offers the abilility to add images and text information about the project. You can upload upto 6 images when editing your project but on the free plan we limit the public view to 2 images max.
When you are ready to show more projects, you can purchase an upgrade subscription for €16 per year (subject to annual increase) which allows you to display more projects on your profile as well as displaying all 6 images in the image slider where existing.
Settings
As with most websites, you have a settings page where you manage confidential account information and this is where you are able to manage your account credentials and billing information. To access the settings page you need to first be logged in to your account and secondly click on the gear icon in the top right. You can also delete your account from the settings page.
